Jr. Worship, Joy, and memory verses..Oh my!
This has been a super long week. Long in good and bad ways. So many new roads to travel down but some of them I just can't brag about yet.
Well, the beginning of the week was just crazy! Sunday was so perfect and beautiful and then came the crazy storms! It was mostly amazing though to be in the auditorium at Spring Road with some of the people I always assume I will spend eternity with while tornado sirens go off..While we just kept singing his praises! I loved listening to kids get excited to choose the songs out of the song books, and as discouraged as we get as adults, looking to those kids makes everything seem so much easier.
Some of you might not know this but I teach Jr. Worship on Sunday mornings with my fabulous helper Jade. It is sometimes a struggle to make the kids get involved and enthusiastic sometimes, but when I find that one lesson or verse that sticks with them..It makes me cry to see them really think about things. There is one girl in particular, she is my joy! She really gets it and is so young and fresh. A bit dramatic at times but she is why I continue to teach because I know that each week I can really catch her attention. She blows me away to with her ability to learn and practice everything she is taught. I love when I watch these kids grow in the spirit.
So, I have this friend who I took over for when they found a new church family to grow with. She did so much to create a lively and beautiful place for the kids and I am trying to redecorate (keep in mind, this friend is an interior designer) but keep her special touches that remind me how much she cared as much as I do for these little souls. So, I am going to keep the color scheme but update the verses and get rid of some of the boards. So, I finish with another request my fellow readers and friends..What is your favorite memory verse as a kid or as an adult so I can add it to my new memory verse boards.
The memory verse I chose...
1 John 1: 5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
I love 1,2,3 John!
By far my favorite books. I read them over and over again!!
Along with ALL of 2 Corinthians, all about forgiveness!
The blessings come down as the prayers go up...
It's funny how much that song means to you even as an adult.
